Filed Under Family, Family Home Evening, Written by Emily | Leave a Comment
The day after Easter we had a Family Home Evening to follow up about the significance of Easter. We hid a special gold egg for the children to find, explaining that it contained a very special treasure. When they found it we all gathered together to open it. The contents? Nothing.

As we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ we have many opportunities to teach and bear testimony to our children of His life and mission and His central point in our life. At this Christmas season we also have the opportunity to celebrate another man whose life and mission have blessed our […]
We had a fun night. Our son had made a croquet course in the backyard similar to a goofy golf course, and he wanted to do that for our FHE activity. Because it gets dark so early my husband came up with a great idea–how about we do FHE backward tonight? So, we called the […]

It has been a demanding couple of weeks, and when Monday night rolled around I just didn’t have it in me to finish preparing the lesson Todd and I had talked about doing. Todd gathered the children and together they planned a skit about Ammon the missionary while I rested upstairs (truth be told, Mommy […]

Teaching the Messages of Conference to Children

Families all over the world have undoubtedly been blessed already, as has our family, by hearkening to President Hinckley’s charge to teach the messages of Conference in Family Home Evenings. As my husband and I recently read the messages from the February 2007 Worldwide Leadership Training Meeting (WWLTM) contained in the June 2007 Ensign, I […]

Family Night Light–The Sacred Blessing of the Priesthood
Filed Under Family, Family Home Evening | Leave a Comment
As I read through the messages from the Priesthood session of General Conference I noticed that both President Faust and President Monson referred to statistics regarding the large number of people in the world and the small number of those that have the priesthood. President Monson said, “I have thought repeatedly of the blessing […]
