About Emily Layton
I am a woman that wears many hats. I am the wife of an amazing man, and my greatest satisfaction in life is growing in oneness with him. I am the mother of four bright, energetic spirits. I love mothering, and when I have those “I-am-so-tired-and-you-aren’t-doing-what-I-want-you-to-do” moments, I often remind myself that they are just valiant, noble spirits and I did agree to the plan that included free agency! I am a sister in a wonderful ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, and I rejoice in being part of a Zion-community. I teach music to the senior primary children in our ward and also lead a monthly enrichment class about teaching the messages of Conference to children. I am a preschool teacher in my third year of teaching preschool in my home, and I have recently added a “Mom and Me” class to teach mothers of toddlers more about the joys of teaching and raising “valiant, noble spirits” (in other words, ideas of what to do with your toddler because they are driving you crazy!). I am a student working toward a Master’s Degree at BYU and to become a Certified Family Life Educator. I am also a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a neighbor, and a friend. Most importantly, I am a daughter of God and I love my Heavenly Father. I rejoice in the covenants I have made with Him, and do my best to live them every day. I fall short in many ways, but because of the grace and mercy of my Savior Jesus Christ I know that my best is always good enough, and I find joy in Living in the Light the best I can every day.
